Keen - Kickball Wallpapers

While working for Model Farm, I worked with a company called KEEN. My project manager gave me a project to make wallpapers for KEEN’s employees’ computers. I was told that Keen’s team won a 2023 kickball tournament, and I was supposed to make wallpapers related to their championship. Their main colors are gray and orange, so I had two iterations of each background incorporating the colors. I was told to design a unique trophy for the kickball tournament champions, and I was also told to add wings to the trophy. I went with a classic look for a trophy with a kickball with wings placed inside it.

The first iteration I had for the wallpapers had a star centered behind the trophy. I added a drop shadow to give it more of a three-dimensional look. The second iteration was to have “2023 Kickball Champions” text across the wallpaper with the trophy in the background. I preferred the first iteration of the two because of how the star and the trophy pop.

When thinking about this project, I did a good job bringing professionalism and fun into these designs. I also did well making the trophy feel less 2D, by adding some of the edges of the trophy and being able to partly see the inside. I was very efficient on this project and got this project done in a short amount of time. This was in the middle of my internship, so I refined my design process to be more efficient. If I were to do the project again, I would explore different wallpapers that move the trophy off-center. I would also touch up the wings so you can see more detail in them.
