Motion Graphic - GDCA Advertisement

For one of my Graphic Design Studios, I was told to use motion graphics to advertise for any event I wanted. I decided to go with the Game Developers Choice Awards, because it is a lesser known event compared to The Game Awards. I also liked the design of their logo for the event and thought it could be fun to animate. I was inspired by the show Love, Death, & Robots opening credits. It starts out with these stagnate shapes and then they start to move around while also morphing into other shape. I thought it could work well for the advertisement with the logo being made up of shapes. I started the video as being an interruption from whatever someone was watching at the time. I envisioned this advertisement being in the middle of a Youtube video, specifically a video game related video. Then have these shapes moving around and morphing, making people wonder to themselves, what was going on. That is when we finally reveal the name of the event, along with when it is and where you can learn more. Even if they skip the video after the reveal, they will remember the name of the event at least. The goal is keep the audience watching the advertisement, out of curiosity, and not just skip the ad as soon as they can. I believe I succeed in making the shapes dynamic in their movements to keep the audience entertained. I think this is a strong project I made during my time at Iowa State, and I want to show this one because I wanted to show that I want to continue to make more interesting animations. I want to keep making each of my animation better than the last.
