Model Farm - Curse of the Zodiac

I did this project during my internship at Model Farm. I was tasked with developing a design related to Iowa State University that could be sold on Model Farm's Etsy page. I decided to go with a Zodiac Sign on our campus. It is located on the ground at the entrance of Memorial Union. The superstition is that you will fail your next exam if you walk on the Zodiac, so I wanted to make a sticker collection of the different Zodiacs trying to ruin your grade.

It took a couple of months, but I finally finished the designs of the final stickers. I made the stickers’ border similar to the actual Zodiac sign in Memorial Union. I also indicated on the border which Zodiac sign each sticker was. After finishing the designs, I was also tasked with making three advertisements for the stickers. Two were for posts on Instagram, and the other one was for the ISU Newsletter.

My final thoughts about the project are that I had a lot of fun with this project. I loved coming up with the concepts for each Zodiac, and I loved designing them as well. These took slightly longer than expected because of redesigns, other projects, and training videos that I had to watch for the internship. Initially, I struggled to design the Zodiacs, but I used the actual Zodiac from the Memorial Union as a reference and changed some things with their designs. for example, I had to change the scorpion so he could match the perspective of the sticker. His original design, is a lot chucker, but I keep the face of him the same. This was my favorite project of my Internship at Model Farm because I was given creative freedom for this project, and there were many avenues I could go down with this project. I also enjoy character design a lot, and it was fun to design each zodiac.
